About Eula Mae's Root Cellar
Some traditions are written in books. Others are whispered across kitchen tables, carried in prayer, gathered from gardens, and passed from one pair of hands to the next. Eula Mae’s Root Cellar was created in honor of my grandmother, Eula Mae, and the generations of wisdom that came before her. Grandma had a gift for using what was already within reach—a root, an herb, something from the kitchen cabinet—to care for those she loved. That knowledge was part of a much older tradition of resourcefulness, faith, and survival passed down through generations. My family’s roots travel through the American South, from Savannah, Georgia, to Arkansas. In generations when doctors, hospitals, and medicine were often inaccessible to Black families, our ancestors turned to the earth, household remedies, prayer, herbal knowledge, healers, and root workers. Alongside these traditions endured Hoodoo—a distinctly African American spiritual tradition shaped by African ancestral knowledge, the experiences of Black people in America, root work, prayer, protection, and survival. That history is part of the soil from which Eula Mae’s Root Cellar grows. Our doors are open to everyone, but our roots will never be hidden. Through herbs, crystals, candles, oils, handcrafted goods, and spiritual tools, Eula Mae’s Root Cellar honors what our ancestors preserved while carrying that wisdom forward with intention. The herbs are gathered, the candles are poured, the shelves are being filled, and the stories are still being told. Welcome to Eula Mae’s Root Cellar—rooted in heritage, guided by tradition, and carried forward with intention.
A little bit of everything we keep in the cellar.
From the Sea Islands of the Carolina's to the bayou of Louisiana, Hoodoo was the lifeline connecting those of the diaspora to their ancestral land spiritually. When "root work" was pass to the next generation so did that lifeline. Three ways we support your path.

“Everything you need was already put in the ground — the roots, the stones and the people who remember.”
Questions, answered plain.
What folks ask most about our stones, our handmade goods, and the tradition we work from.
Rootwork is the folk spiritual tradition carried through the American South — from the Gullah–Geechee Sea Islands of the Carolinas to the Louisiana bayous — built on prayer, plants, roots, and ancestral memory. You don't have to practice anything to shop with us. Come as you are, take what serves you, leave the rest.
Start with what you're carrying. Need steadying? Reach for grounding stones like Bloodstone. Need clarity or protection? We'll point you there. Read the listing, sit with the picture, and trust the one that keeps pulling your eye — that's usually the one.
Yes. The beauty products — whipped shea butter and the rest — are made by hand in small batches in our own kitchen. The copper and crystal jewelry is hand-formed. Every crystal is natural stone, so no two pieces look exactly alike.
Because that's the whole point. Eula Mae's Root Cellar exists to make holistic and spiritual wellness reachable for lower-income folks and anyone who needs a budget-friendly option. We keep our margins honest so the door stays open.
Always. The E-Corner holds free courses and how-to digital resources on herbs, stones, ritual basics, and holistic care — alongside our paid books and e-products. Knowledge that was passed down free shouldn't be locked behind a paywall.
Cleanse stones gently — moonlight, smoke, or sound rather than salt water, which can damage softer minerals. Copper naturally darkens over time; a soft cloth with lemon and salt brings the shine back if you'd rather it stay bright.
